Immersion Heater Repairs

Immersion heaters are used widely across every county in Ireland to heat water in homes independently of the central heating system. It might surprise you to learn that the type of immersion heater you have in your home is influenced by the water in your area. Not all heating elements that are used in immersions are suitable for hard water areas for example.
Pro Plumber Tip: If you don’t have an immersion timer*, keep a kitchen timer in the hotpress and use it to remind you to switch off the immersion and prevent high bills.
How long your immersion lasts depends on how much you use it. If it is the main source of hot water, being used daily by the whole family, then an immersion will need to be replaced sooner. That said, immersions tend to last many years with regular maintenance.
